COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Willie Jenkins scored 23 points to lead Tennessee Tech to a 74-59 victory Tuesday night over Austin Peay.
The Golden Eagles (16-10, 11-4 Ohio Valley Conference) clinched at least a share of the league championship and the top seed in the upcoming tournament.
Tennessee Tech, which never trailed, shot 49.2 percent from the field and held the Governors (11-17, 9-6) to just 32.8 percent shooting.
Derek Stribling and Milone Clark both had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Eagles, and Keyon Boyd added 11 points.
Maurice Hampton scored 19 points to lead Austin Peay, while Zac Schlader had 12 points and nine rebounds and William Durden 11 points. Anthony Davis, one of Austin Peay's top players, was 0 of 10 from the field and had two points.
Tennessee Tech jumped out to a 10-2 lead and was on top by as much as 16 points at 28-12 with 4:03 left in the half. The Golden Eagles led 32-23 at halftime.
Austin Peay cut the lead to 32-25 with 17:39 to play on a basket by Schlader, who finished with 12 points.
Tennessee Tech answered with a 9-0 run capped by a Jenkins 3-pointer with 13:50 to play to go up 41-25.
The Governors never cut the lead to less than 10 the rest of the game.
The Golden Eagles are 11-0 at home this season.
