NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nate Blank scored a game-high 21 points as Gardner-Webb had a hot second half to beat Stetson 82-63 Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference tourney.
Stetson, the No. 3-seed, led 29-28 at halftime. But No. 6-seeded Gardner-Webb shot 65 percent from the field (18-of-28) in the second half.
Gardner-Webb also hit 14 of 14 free throws in the second half to go ahead 54-34.
Aaron Linn added 15 points for the winners while Thomas Sanders and Grayson Flittner both had 13.
Stetson had just one player in double figures, A.J. Smith with 16.
It was the first time in the tournament that the lower seed won.
Gardner-Webb advances to Friday night's semifinals against No.2-seeded Jacksonville.
