TULSA, Okla. -- Robert Jarvis scored 17 of his 19 points during the second half to rally top-seeded Oral Roberts past fifth-seeded Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 58-42 in the Summit League semifinals on Monday night.
The Golden Eagles (23-8) advanced to the league tournament championship game for the fourth consecutive year. Oral Roberts, which will play the winner of the other semifinal game between Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis (IUPUI) and Oakland, has won the past two conference tournaments.
Jarvis, the Summit League's sixth man of the year, scored 10 points in the final 3:35 to help the Golden Eagles pull away after they trailed most of the game.
Jaraun Burrows, who was 9-for-11 from the field, paced the Mastodons (13-18) with 20 points and 10 rebounds, but was scoreless over the last nine minutes.
IPFW led 38-31 with 11:50 remaining but was outscored 27-4 during the rest of the game.
Marcus Lewis' basket with 7:20 left gave Oral Roberts its first lead, 40-39, with 7:20 left. Twelve seconds later, Demetrius Johnson made one of two free throws to tie the game at 40.
Shawn King's hook shot put Oral Roberts ahead to stay at 42-40 with 5:45 remaining. Lewis followed with a basket at 4:56 and Jarvis sank his third trey for a 47-40 lead at 3:35.
After making one of two free throws, Jarvis came up with a steal and layup for a 50-40 advantage.
DeWitt Scott answered with IPFW's only field goal of the final 11:50 and Oral Roberts sealed the outcome when Jarvis made 3-of-4 free throws with 1:32 left after he was fouled. The IPFW bench was assessed a technical.
Oral Roberts outrebounded IPFW 45-30, including 11 from King, who also had 10 points and three blocked shots.
