MORAGA, Calif. (AP) -Tim Pierce had 21 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, one of three San Jose State players with double-doubles, and the Spartans rebounded from their first loss in nearly a month with an 84-59 win over William Jessup in the consolation game of the Shamrock Classic on Sunday.

Chris Oakes added 18 points and 17 rebounds while C.J. Webster 15 points and 10 rebounds for San Jose State (6-4), which has won four of its last five.

The Spartans led the entire way and nearly doubled the rebound total of William Jessup, 65-33. The 65 rebounds are tied for the third-most in the NCAA this season. Eastern Michigan had 76 against Marygrove on Nov. 14 and Maine grabbed 73 against Maine-Presque Isle on Dec. 4.

Pierce had 14 of his points in the second half when San Jose State built a 29-point lead, allowing coach George Nessman to empty to his bench. The Spartans senior forward scored 11 points in a span of 2:40 in the second half to blow the game open. Pierce, who recently became the school's career leader for 3-pointers, struggled with his outside shot, though, and went 2-for-9 from beyond the arc.

Lucas Birchard had 13 points for William Jessup (6-9), an NAIA Division II school just north of Sacramento.
