LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -Quincy Hankins-Cole scored 11 of his 15 points in a 24-7 second-half Nebraska run that put away Jackson State 57-41 Saturday night.
Nebraska (8-2) trailed just once at 3-0 and led by 15 at half. Jackson State (0-8) cut the Cornhuskers lead to 27-20 on Tyrone Hanson's layup with 13:55 left, capping an 11-3 half-opening run for the Tigers.
Hankins-Cole's countered with three straight layups and a free to push the Husker lead to 48-27 with 8:13 remaining.
Jackson State made their first shot of the game, then missed 15 straight. The Tigers finished the first half with 9 points, shooting 3 of 23 (13 percent) from the field and 2 of 8 from the free-throw line.
The 9 points allowed was the second fewest in Bob Devaney Sports Center's 33-year history. The Huskers held North Carolina Central to 8 points in a half in 2007.
Hanson led Jackson State with 11 points. De'Suan Dixon added 10 for the Tigers.
