ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) Eric Ferguson scored 16 points and Olu Famutimi 17 to lead Arkansas to a 72-49 victory over Winthrop in Friday's first round of the Paradise Jam tournament.
The Razorbacks shot 65 percent from three-point range, hitting 11 of 17 long-distance shots, and outscored the Eagles by 20 in the second half after breaking away from a tie game.
It was the second-best three-point percentage in school history. In 1999, Arkansas hit 14-of-21 (.667) against Western Carolina in a 90-54 victory in 1999.
The Razorbacks play Sunday against Troy State.
Ferguson, who played 22 minutes, also had four assists. Famutimi led Arkansas' rebounding with eight.
Arkansas led 33-30 at halftime. But the game was tied at 40 points each with 16:38 left when the Razorbacks drew away with a 11-0 run.
A free throw broke that streak, but Arkansas added another 7-0 run streak and led 58-41 with 8:26 to play.
The Razorbacks' biggest lead was 70-46 with 3:48 remaining.
Ronnie Brewer finished with 11 points for Arkansas.
Craig Bradshaw led the Eagles with 12 while Martin finished with 11.
