BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) Paul Millsap scored 25 points and blocked a shot that could have tied the game with seconds left as Louisiana Tech beat Tulane 69-66 in the LSU Louisiana Classic consolation game Sunday.
The Bulldogs (1-1) led 35-28 at the half, but were unable to get any solid runs. Tulane (0-2) was never more than nine points behind.
Tech's Daevon Haskins broke a 64-64 tie with 3:53 left. Then Donell Allick picked off a Tulane pass and returned it the length of the floor, but was fouled while shooting and missed both free throws.
On Tulane's next possession, Millsap blocked Vincent Camper's shot with less than 15 seconds left, and Allick got the next free throw.
Millsap had 14 rebounds. Allick had 14 points and five rebounds, Corey Dean had 12 points and Wayne Powell 10 for Louisiana Tech.
Quincy Davis had 19 points and seven rebounds for Tulane. Taylor Rochestie added 13 points and Camper 10.
