INDIANAPOLIS (AP) George Hill scored 26 points and Akeem Clark had 24 to lead IUPUI to a 91-81 win over Huntington on Wednesday night.
Hill made 10-of-11 shots from the field and had six rebounds and five assists for the Jaguars (1-1), who got their first win of the season after losing to Wisconsin-Green Bay on Saturday.
Clark hit five 3-pointers, but IUPUI did most of its damage in the post, outscoring Huntington 48-22 in the paint.
Steve Snider had 22 points and eight rebounds before fouling out and Kyle Ganton scored 19 to lead Huntington (6-4).
Chase Verba and Alex Kock each scored 14 points for Huntington, which shot 55 percent for the game. But it could not overcome 24 turnovers, which led to 34 IUPUI points.
The Jaguars shot 67 percent in the first half, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, to take a 19-point lead. They also took care of the ball, committing just 11 turnovers.
Four days after shooting a horrendous 33 percent from the field in the loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay, IUPUI shot 52 percent on Wednesday.
Johnny Miller chipped in 16 points and six assists for IUPUI.
