GRAMBLING, La. (AP) Ron Ellis came off the bench to score 21 points _ including five 3-pointers - to lead Grambling State to an 80-58 win over Texas College Wednesday night.
Brion Rush added 17 points for the Tigers (2-0) and grabbed five rebounds. Anthony Williams and Marcus Watson added 13 points each.
Anton Moore led Texas College (3-4) with 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Tigers were 12-of-21 from 3-point range and committed only 10 turnovers. But in spite of the victory, Grambling State was outscored 58 to 26 in bench points and 40 to 23 in points in the paint by the Steers.
