PHILADELPHIA (AP) Ibrahim Jaaber scored 14 points and had seven steals as Penn held off a second-half rally by Bucknell, beating the Bison 65-52.
Steve Danley add-ed 10 points for Penn (3-2), while Kevin Bettencourt scored 16 for Bucknell (3-4).
Penn took its biggest lead 45-24 with 17:05 left to play. The Bison then went on a 17-5 run, capped by a steal and layup by Bettencourt to narrow the gap to 50-41.
However, Jaaber then made another steal, and hit two foul shots and Tim Begley added a layup to stop the Bucknell threat.
A 10-0 run near the end of the first half gave the Quakers a 32-13 advantage as Bucknell went scoreless for 6:16.
The Quakers held a 38-20 lead at halftime, making 13 of 30 shots while Bucknell was 6 for 23 and committed 12 turnovers. For the game, the Bison turned the ball over 25 times.
The victory gave the Quakers a 5-1 edge in the series, and was the Ivy Leaguers' 19th straight win over a Patriot League team.
