MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Darnell Hopkins scored 17 points to lead Murray State past Texas-San Antonio 69-58 Wednesday night at the Regional Special Events Center.
Reggie Jackson added 12 points and Trey Pearson scored 10 for the Racers (3-1).
John Millsap scored a team-high 18 points for Texas-San Antonio (3-1). Rapheal Posey added 10 points for the Roadrunners.
The Racers, which relied on defense, shot 35.4 percent from the field and held Texas-San Antonio to 32.7 percent shooting.
Shane Dansby scored the game's last field goal on a 3-pointer for Murray State with 8:44 left in the game, putting the Racers up 64-49.
Murray then made 5-of-9 from the free throw line to close out the game. The Roadrunners' offense also stalled toward the end. They made 9-of-10 free throws in the remaining 7:12 but did not connect from the field.
