DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) Antonio Webb sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Bethune-Cookman a last-second 70-67 win over Texas Southern on Wednesday night.
Webb finished with 23 points for the Wildcats (2-1), off to their best start since 1999-2000 season.
Texas Southern (1-3) trailed 66-58 with 1:08 to play but tied the score at 67-all with 10.2 seconds left on a pair of free throws by Justin Wilson.
Webb, who had missed two free throws with 21.7 seconds to play, took the inbound pass and dribbled near the three-point line. He faked a drive toward the basket, pulled up quickly and launched the game-winner.
Bethune-Cookman trailed 33-27 at halftime, but grabbed its first lead of the game on another Webb three-pointer with 13:43 to play.
Diondre Larmond had 13 points and Michael Williams added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.
Sean Walker led the Tigers with 20 points, while Mike Sneed had 17 points and Wilson finished with 12.
