WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Paul Miller scored 13 points to lead Wichita State to a 65-55 victory over San Francisco on Wednesday night.
Rob Kampman, Sean Ogirri and Matt Braeuer added 10 points each for the Shockers (3-0), who held the Dons (1-3) to 15 first-half points and led by 10 at the break.
San Francisco got within 61-53 on John Cox's 3-pointer with under a minute left, but Wichita State hit 4 of 6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Cox, who came in averaging 26.3 points per game, had 18 against the Shockers on 5-for-18 shooting. Tyrone Riley added 12 points for the Dons.
