MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) Thomas Viglianco and Jakob Sigurdarson each scored 23 points as Birmingham-Southern came from behind in the second half to defeat Alabama State 71-63.
Birmingham-Southern hit 15 three-pointers, including six by Sigurdarson and five by Viglianco and the Panthers shot 57 percent in the second half to pull away from the Hornets.
Birmingham-Southern (5-3) trailed 38-35 at halftime, but outscored the Hornets by 11 in the second period.
Alabama State (1-3) was led by Kevin Spicer and Alexander Oliver, who had 14 points each, while Jermaine Smith had 10. The Panthers won the game despite committing 25 fouls. Birmingham-Southern attempted only 11 free throws to 29 for the Hornets.
