ORONO, Maine (AP) - Ernest Turner led four Black Bears in double figures with 22 points Saturday to propel Maine to a 79-66 win against Harvard.
Kevin Reed chipped in 14 points, all in the second half, and broke the school record for most three-pointers made with a long distance shot midway through the second half.
Maine (3-2) jumped out to an 18-6 lead to start the game and never looked back. Harvard cut the Black Bear lead to 32-29 at halftime, but Maine took a strong lead early in the second half thanks to Reed's long-range shooting.
Harvard (1-4) was led by 7-footer Brian Cusworth's 16 points.
Matt Stehle and David Giovacchini each chipped in with 11. Stehle also had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Crimson.
Chris Markwood scored 11 points and added six assists for Maine. Mark Flavin chipped in 10 points. The Black Bears connected on 10-20 three-pointers for the game.
