MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) _Senior forward Chad McKnight scored 22 points to lead Morehead State to a 64-52 win over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne Saturday night at Johnson Arena.
The Eagles (4-1), who have won three straight, also got 11 points from guard Josh Reed.
Morehead State scored the final six points of the half to take a 25-21 advantage.
The Eagles built a 43-33 lead in the second half on a basket by freshman Kevin McDonald.
IPFW (2-5) rallied back when Quinton Carouthers scored seven straight. His second dunk of the run got the Mastodons to within 43-40 with 8:23 left in the game.
Morehead State regrouped and held IPFW scoreless for over five minutes, while outscoring the Mastodons 10-0 to seal the win.
David Simon was the only IPFW player to hit double figures with 15.
Morehead State finished 21-of-44 from the field (47.7 percent) while IPFW hit 22-of-60 (36 percent).
Morehead State faces Kentucky on Wednesday.
