ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Steven Thomas scored 26 points and Jarrett Howell added 20 as Texas-Arlington defeated San Diego 92-83 Saturday.
Texas-Arlington (4-2) shot 60 percent from the field and hit 38 of 47 free throws. Brice Vounang scored 18 points for San Diego (2-4).
The Mavericks shot 67 percent in the first half as they jumped out to a 54-32 halftime lead.
Thomas connected on 16 of 17 free throws to lead UTA at the foul line.
Stephen Floyd scored 18 points for the Mavericks, Jermaine Griffin had 12 and Brady Dawkins added 10.
San Diego's Brandon Gay had 14 points and Avi Fogel had 12.
