SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- Five players scored in double figures, led by Chad Maclies' career-high 24 points, as Centenary defeated Arkansas Baptist 90-71 for the Gents' first victory of the season Tuesday night.
Centenary (1-5) scored on its first possession of the second half to push its lead to 43-33. Arkansas State (2-4) pulled within six points with just under 11 minutes remaining after back-to-back Centenary turnovers. But the Gents put the game out of reach by converting on 24-of-31 free throw attempts in the second half.
Curtis Tillman had 17 points for the Gents, Jarmorrow Moragne added 14 and David Tolefree had 10. Tyrone Hamilton recorded his first double-double with 13 points and 10 assists.
Arkansas Baptist was led by Alvin Morris and Dontario Brooks who each finished with 15 points. Kevin Morris contributed 11 points.
With the win, Centenary also extended their Gold Dome win streak to 19 games. The Gents have not lost on their home court since January of 2003 when they fell to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 93-92.
