YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) Darryl Garrett scored 27 points, including five 3-pointers in Eastern Michigan's 89-29 win over Rochester College on Tuesday. It was the largest margin of victory in Eagles history.
Eastern's previous record for a victory margin was 59 points, set in 1968 against Western Ontario. Rochester's 29 points was also the lowest total scored by a team at the EMU Convocation Center.
Garrett missed just one of his 10 field-goal attempts and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. John Bowler added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (4-1).
Colin Wilkinson led Rochester (6-8) with nine points and Vaughn Gray had seven.
Eastern led 41-12 at the half and opened the second half with a 25-4 run. The Warriors shot just 19.5 percent from the field and hit 1-of-13 from behind the 3-point arc.
The Eagles scored 40 points off 30 Rochester turnovers.
