TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- David Moss scored 29 points and Indiana State found its shooting touch in the second half to win its fourth straight game with a 57-54 victory over Butler on Saturday.
Moss, a 6-foot-5 junior guard and the Sycamores' leading scorer at more than 18 points per game, made 11-of-17 field goals and also had a team high four assists.
Indiana State took 26 shots in each half but made 15 in the second half after hitting just nine in the opening period, which ended with Butler (3-3) ahead 25-19 and seemingly on its way to a fourth straight victory in its century-old rivalry with the Sycamores (5-2).
Butler, suffering its third straight loss, could not overcome Indiana State's strength inside. The Sycamores, behind eight rebounds apiece by Moss and 6-7 forward Amani Daanish, beat the Bulldogs on the boards 36-22 and outscored them 10-3 on second-chance points. Daanish also scored 12 points.
Nick Brooks came off the Butler bench to score 13 points and grab five rebounds, tying him for team highs in both stats. Bruce Horan also scored 13 for Butler.
