BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) -- Brian Bender scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Gardner-Webb beat Kenyon 92-61 on Saturday.
Gardner-Webb (5-2) shot 67.7 percent in the second half and the Runnin' Bulldogs' bench scored 44 points on the night, compared to 11 for Kenyon (1-8). Bret Noonan led the Gardner-Webb bench with 17 points, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range.
Till Wieczorek had 22 points and Matt Formato added 16 for Kenyon, but the Lords shot only 2 of 12 from three-point range in the second half.
Gardner-Webb had 12 steals and forced 22 turnovers in the game.
Leading 47-34 with 15:24 remaining, Gardner-Webb used an 18-2 run to put the game out of reach. Kenyon would get no closer than 25 points the rest of the way.
