WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Sophomore Bo Taylor scored 17 points in the University of Hartford's 74-60 win against Long Island University Saturday.
After both teams traded leads in the first half, the Hawks led 38-32 at the break.
Long Island scored six straight points with 14:13 left in the second half, four from James Williams. Hartford (2-3) took the lead back with a layup by Taylor, and Long Island got within one point but never regained the lead.
Evan Meekins had 17 points for Long Island (3-3).
Hartford held Long Island to 36 percent shooting, and held the rebounding advantage 37-35. The Hawks shot 48 percent from the field, but were 1-of-8 from the 3-point line.
