HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- Joe Thompson scored 21 points as Sam Houston State beat LSU-Shreveport 98-64 Saturday night.
Sam Houston State (4-5) led 46-38 at halftime and shot 61 percent in the second half to pull away.
Fredericko Payne scored 21 points for LSU-Shreveport (7-3).
Thompson hit 6 of 7 3-pointers for the Bearkats, who hit 11 as a team. Sam Houston State's Chris Jordan scored 13 points and Ryan Griffin added 12.
Derrick Rogers had 15 points and Derrick Hill grabbed 12 rebounds for LSU-Shreveport.
The Pilots shot 34 percent from the field (22 of 65) and turned the ball over 24 times. Sam Houston State scored 28 points off those turnovers.
