NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -- Neil Plank scored 21 points to lead Illinois State to a 79-67 victory over Marshall on Saturday.
The Redbirds (7-2) grabbed a 41-36 halftime lead by shooting nearly 54 percent from the field, and hitting half of their 10 three-point attempts.
In addition to a game-high 21 points, Plank had eight rebounds and two assists for Illinois State. Lorenzo Gordon scored 15 points for the Redbirds and Greg Dilligard had 14. Gregg Alexander added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Marshall (1-5) was led by David Anderson and Tre Whitted, with 13 points each. Mark Patton scored 12 points, and Joe Miles added 11.
