CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- Darren Brooks scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday, leading Southern Illinois to a 80-71 victory over Murray State.
Brooks scored on 10-of-15 shooting from the field. He also had three assists and two steals for the Salukis (4-2), who lead 33-28 at the half.
Stetson Hairston scored 18, while Tony Young had 10 points and six steals for Southern Illinois.
Darnell Hopkins had 21 points, five rebounds and two assists for Murray State (3-2). He got some help from Trey Pearson who added 17 points and four assists.
