CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Todd Peterson scored a game-high 20 points Saturday to lead Northern Illinois to a 76-60 victory over Eastern Illinois.
Eastern Illinois (3-3) held a 34-32 lead going into the second half, but fell behind on a three-pointer by Peterson at 16:46 to make the score 40-37. The Panthers trailed the rest of the game.
Northern Illinois (3-3) was up 49-45 when the Huskies went on a 12-4 run to take a 61-49 lead with 7:53 left. The closest Eastern could get after that was nine points, 67-58, with three minutes remaining.
Cory Sims scored 12 points for Northern Illinois, with Paige Paulsen adding 11 and Mike McKinney 10.
Eastern was led by Emanuel Dildy's 16 points. Aaron Patterson scored 14 and Bobby Catchings 13.
