OREM, Utah (AP) -- Luke Spencer-Gardner hit a running 3-pointer at the buzzer Saturday to give Oral Roberts a 92-89 victory over Utah Valley State.
Spencer-Gardner did not miss from the floor in the game, hitting all seven of his shots, including six 3-pointers for a team-high 22 points.
Utah Valley State's Ronnie Price led all scorers with 35 points, including a floater in the lane with three seconds left to tie the game.
The Wolverines (1-6) overcame a 87-80 deficit with only a couple of minutes remaining in the game as two Golden Eagles missed the front ends of one-and-ones, but it wasn't enough as Oral Roberts equaled its best start to a season in school history.
Oral Roberts also started 6-0 in 1990-91 and 2002-03.
The Golden Eagles shot 70 percent from the floor in the second half _ 62 percent for the game _ including 8-of-11 3 -pointers to erase a five-point halftime deficit.
