BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Chris Alexander hit a pair of free throws to lift Southern University to a 67-65 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday night.
Alexander scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures for Southern (3-2). Trayvean Scott added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and Peter Cipriano and Jerimie Collier each scored 10 points.
Ricky Woods led SE Louisiana (5-3) with a season-high 31 points.
Southern's Alvin Mott drilled a 3-pointer with 1:22 left to erase a 63-62 Southeastern lead. Alexander's two free throws made it 67-63.
Scott Roninger hit a 14-foot jumper with 7.2 seconds left to cut the score to 67-65. Scott was fouled on the inbound pass but missed both free throws, giving Southeastern one last chance. But Roninger missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
