DETROIT (AP) -- James Thues scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help Detroit Mercy rally past Gannon 62-49 Saturday.
The Titans broke a six-game losing streak, their longest since the 1991-92 season.
Ryvon Coville added 15 points and seven rebounds for Detroit (2-6), which outscored the Golden Knights 16-4 in the first eight minutes of the second half. Chuck Bailey came off the bench to score 10.
Matt Jones scored 17 to lead Gannon (6-4), which was playing its first NCAA Division I opponent since 1983. Shelby Chaney added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Thues hit a 3-pointer five minutes into the second half to tie the game, then made another two minutes later to give Detroit the lead.
Gannon tied the game on Demondi Johnson's triple, but Muhammad Abdur-Rahim's lay-up gave the Titans a lead they would hold the rest of the game.
Gannon scored the last eight points of the first half to take a 34-25 lead at the break. The Titans, who were scoreless in the final five minutes of the half, turned the ball over eight times and made only nine field goals in the first 20 minutes.
Detroit was 11-of-16 from the foul line, while Gannon hit just four of six free throws.
