ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Quemont Greer scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead DePaul to a 80-62 victory Saturday over Illinois-Chicago.
DePaul was trailing 40-33 when the Blue Demons went on a 10-2 run early in the second half, capped by Sammy Mejia's 3-pointer to give DePaul a 43-42 lead with 16:05 left.
The Blue Demons extended their lead to 62-56 on Marlon Brumfield's 3-point play, which was set up by a nice pass from Cliff Clinkscales. The next time down, Clinkscales hit Greer with a perfect alleyoop pass for a dunk, increasing DePaul's lead to 64-56 with 7:08 left in the game.
Clinkscales hit LeVar Seals with another alleyoop pass to make it 76-60 with 2:14 left.
Seals finished with 13 points, and Mejia had 11 points for DePaul (6-3). Clinkscales added 7 points and 13 assists.
Elliot Poole had 16 points for Illinois-Chicago (3-5), and Armond Williams scored 15 points and seven rebounds.
Illinois-Chicago led 38-33 at halftime, but Greer kept DePaul in the game with 20 first half points on 9-of-12 shooting. He scored 14 straight points for DePaul during a 5:10 stretch in the first half.
DePaul's Drake Diener didn't play until the second half. He was slowed by a sprained ankle.
