HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) -- Zione White scored 17 points to lead High Point to a 78-61 win over Mount St. Mary's Saturday night.
Jerry Echenique added 15 points and eight rebounds and Mark Wilson tallied 14 points and four rebounds for the Panthers (3-7), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Danny Gathings added 12 points to become High Point's 20th all-time scorer.
Charles Cook led The Mountaineers (3-4) with 13 points, while Landy Thompson and Antonio Johnson contributed 12 points apiece. Chris Sumner had seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Mount St. Mary's led 35-32 at the half.
The Panthers came out of the locker room to outscore the Mountaineers 16-1 in the opening 5:21 and take a 48-36 advantage. High Point made four of its first five shots from the field and forced the Mountaineers to miss nine of their first 10 shots in the same span.
Mount St. Mary's pulled within seven points on four occasions, but couldn't get any closer.
