STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -- John Cox scored 22 points and Tyrone Riley had 17 to lead the University of San Francisco to a 67-64 victory over the University of the Pacific on Saturday.
The Dons (6-3) won their third consecutive game and broke the Tigers' 11-game home win streak. Christian Maraker scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and David Doubley had 13 points for the Tigers (4-2).
The outcome wasn't decided until the final seconds of play. Cox made a long 3-point shot, then Johnny Dukes blocked a 3-point attempt by Maraker from the top of the key and raced downcourt for an uncontested slam-dunk to give the Dons a 60-55 lead with 4:10 left to play.
Maraker answered with a pull-up jump shot from 15 feet, then rebounded a missed shot by USF and fed Jasko Korajkic, who made a layup and was fouled.
Korajkic converted the 3-point play to tie the score 60-60 with 3:09 left. Cox hit another trey and a field goal to give USF a 65-62 lead.
Pacific made only 2-of-4 from the line in the final 1:11. The Tigers had possession trailing by one point, but Andre Hazel stole the ball from Maraker with 12.2 seconds remaining and Cox was fouled. He missed the front end of the one-and-one, but Riley grabbed the rebound, was fouled and made both ends to give USF a 67-64 lead with 7.3 seconds left.
After Pacific took a time out, Marko Mihailovic missed a 3-point shot from the right wing. USF secured the rebound and time ran out. USF shot 45.5 percent in the second half and made eight 3-point field goals, while Pacific made three.
The Tigers shot 48 percent from the floor in the first half and led 35-32 at the break. Maraker led Pacific with 12 points and six rebounds.
USF attempted 18 shots from 3-point range, more than half of their 35 attempts for the half, and made just six. Cox sank 4-of-12 from the floor, including 2-of-6 from behind the arc for 10 points to lead the Dons.
