CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Tony Mitchell scored 16 points and Bernard Jackson added 15 to lead the College of Charleston to an 87-69 victory against Coastal Carolina Wednesday night.
Mitchell and Jackson were among six Cougars who scored in double digits. Stanley Jackson scored 13 points, Dontaye Draper had 11, while Josh Jackson and Robert Swain each got 10.
The Cougars (5-3) shot 48.5 percent from the field, compared with the Chanticleers' 45.6 percent. But Coastal Carolina (2-9) was outrebounded 48-28.
The Chanticleers were led by Moses Sonko with 14 points, Pele Paelay scored 13, Jack Leasure had 12 and Clint Nagel added 10.
The College of Charleston led 42-34 at the break.
