HONOLULU (AP) -- Jeff Green scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, including a key offensive rebound with 11 seconds left as Georgetown held off a late run by Long Beach State for a 57-51 victory in the consolation round of the Rainbow Classic on Wednesday.
After the 49ers closed to 52-49 on a 3-pointer by Jibril Hodges with 14 seconds remaining, Green grabbed an offensive rebound off a free throw miss by teammate Jonathan Wallace.
Green was fouled and converted both free throws with 11 seconds left. After a basket by Long Beach State's Kevin Houston, Green hit two more free throws to seal the game for the Hoyas (5-3).
Shawn Hawkins led Long Beach State (1-7) with 18 points and Hodges added in 11.
Down by as much as 13 in the second half, the 49ers pulled within 44-40 with 5:26 remaining on Hodges' 3-pointer. But Georgetown pulled down three offensive rebounds on the following possession, the last resulting in a putback by Green with 3:52 left.
