RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) -- Pooh Jeter scored 25 points in Portland's 76-70 victory over UC Riverside Wednesday night.
Trailing 52-51 in the second half, the Pilots (9-3) used a 9-2 run to build a 60-54 lead.
The Highlanders (4-4) pulled within two at 62-60 with 5:44 remaining after a jumper by Justin Bell.
UC Riverside's rally was cut short when an offensive foul was called on Vili Morton with 2:04 to play and the Highlanders down 68-64.
Jeter made a jumper for Portland and Jeremiah Dominguez hit a pair of free throws to put the lead at eight, 72-64, with 50 seconds to go.
Larry Cunningham came off the bench to score 19 points for UC Riverside. Cunningham made 7 of 11 from the field including 5 of 7 from behind the 3-point line. Vili Morton added 18.
Portland's Darren Cooper had 14 points and Marcus Lewis had 10 for the Pilots.
