CAROLINA, Puerto Rico (AP) -- Keith Tripplet scored 13 points and had five steals to lead Toledo to a 68-65 win over Auburn in the San Juan Shootout on Wednesday.
Toledo (3-5) put the Tigers away with a 13-4 run in the final 4:40, led by six points from Keonta Howell. Nathan Watson missed a wild 3-point attempt at the buzzer on Auburn's final possession.
Auburn (8-4), led by 12 points from guard Toney Douglas, was up 35-28 at halftime.
Justin Ingram added 13 points for the Rockets. Sammy Villegas scored 11, including 3-of-9 on 3-pointers, and Howell finished with nine points and seven rebounds.
Douglas, the tournament's MVP, finished with 23 points and two steals for the Tigers, and Nathan Watson had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
