GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Aaron Cook scored 23 points and Brian Glowiak added 15 off the bench, as Hartford beat Rider 68-57 Wednesday night in the first round of the Oneida Bingo & Casino Classic.
Cook and Glowiak accounted for all nine of Hartford's 3-pointers, five by Glowiak and four by Cook, and seven of them came in the first half as the Hawks built a 38-25 lead.
Rider rallied in the second half, outscoring Hartford 25-9 over a 10-minute stretch. Paul Johnson's putback gave Rider a 52-51 lead with 7:05 left.
But Hartford (3-5) reclaimed the lead on its ensuing possession, scoring six straight points. Charles Ford made a driving layup and was fouled by Robert Taylor, who was also called for a technical foul.
Ford made a free throw, Cook made one of two free throws on the technical, and then Ford added a jumper for a 57-52 lead with 6:09 left.
Steve Castleberry led Rider (4-5) with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jerry Johnson added 13 points.
