CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Josh Jackson scored a career-high 22 points to lead the College of Charleston to an 85-62 victory over Harvard on Wednesday night in the first round of the Saturn Shootout.
Tony Mitchell added 15 points for the Cougars (6-3), who led 14-1 just 3:46 into the game and increased their lead to 47-30 at halftime.
Jackson, a freshman, scored 13 points in the opening period. His layup gave the Cougars their biggest lead of the game at 74-42 with 8:14 left. He was 10 of 14 from the field.
Matt Stehle had 12 points and Jim Goffredo added 10 for Harvard (4-7). The Cougars outscored the Crimson 44-18 in the lane.
College of Charleston will face St. Peter's in the finals Thursday. Harvard will meet Tennessee Tech, which lost to St. Peter's 65-62 on Wednesday.
