GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Josh Lawrence scored 18 points and Brandon Morris added 15 in his first action of the season to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 72-66 victory over North Dakota State Wednesday night in the first round of the Oneida Bingo & Casino Classic.
Green Bay (6-3) advanced to the title game Thursday night against Hartford. North Dakota State (4-7) will face Rider in the consolation game.
Lawrence finished 8-of-12 from the field, including a key 3-pointer with just over one minute to go.
Morris, coming off an academic suspension and starting at guard, led the team with seven rebounds and three steals and had no turnovers.
North Dakota State overcame an early 11-point deficit to take a 36-35 lead at halftime.
A 3-pointer by Phil Hahn and a layup by Myron Green to open the second half gave the Bison a 41-35 lead.
Javier Mendiburu scored six points during an 8-0 Green Bay run to put the Phoenix back in front, but North Dakota State pulled back within 61-59 on Andy Kelchen's rebound basket with just over three minutes left.
Mendiburu then buried a 3-pointer, and Lawrence followed with his 3-pointer to seal the game for the Phoenix.
Mendiburu finished with 12 points, nine assists and three blocked shots.
Adam Dobmeier led North Dakota State with 15 points and Myron Green had 14.
