JACKSON, Miss (AP) -- Dakari Wallace scored 17 points as Jackson State ended Nicholls State's four game winning streak with a 76-61 victory Wednesday night.
Wallace led four other players in double-digit scoring.
Jackson State (4-8) raced to a 17-1 lead in the first five minutes of the game and was up 23-6 with 13:39 left in the first half.
But Nicholls State outscored the Tigers 21-6 during a seven minute span to pull to within 29-27 with just over six minutes left in the half.
Jackson State led 41-35 at the half.
Nicholls State (5-6) closed the gap to 49-48 with 14:25 left in the second half on a basket from Jason Wilkins but Antonio William-Parker led a 16-6 Jackson State run to push the lead to 65-54 with 6:17 remaining in the game.
Nicholls State did not convert a basket for eight minutes of the second half and made only two field goals in the final 11 minutes of the game.
William-Parker and Kelly Ross each added 15 points for Jackson State and Ernest Hassell scored 11.
Willie Depron led Nicholls State with a game high 21 points and 16 rebounds. Wilkins added 13 points.
