GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Anthony Roberson scored a season-high 22 points, Matt Walsh added 21 and Florida routed Sam Houston State 83-51 Wednesday.
Roberson and Walsh combined to score 19 of Florida's first 25 points, and the Gators (8-2) took advantage of their pressure defense to earn their third straight victory.
Wilder Auguste led Sam Houston State (5-6) with 18 points and nine rebounds, but the Bearkats couldn't overcome 33 percent shooting from the floor, including 1-of-14 from 3-point range.
Sam Houston State never found its offensive rhythm, making just three field goals over the first 11 minutes and trailed 25-9 midway through the first half.
Florida shot 54 percent, forced 21 turnovers and got Sam Houston State out of its game plan when center Eddy Fobbs picked up two early fouls.
Florida's David Lee recorded his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Walsh scored 10 straight points in the first half.
The Bearkats weren't any better after the break. They didn't not make a shot during a nearly 12-minute span and got little help at the free-throw line. They made 6 of 13 free throws in the first half and finished 17 of 29 from the line.
Otello Alford scored 12 points for Sam Houston State, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
