CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Ron Yates scored 15 points and Keydren Clark added 14 to lead St. Peter's to a 65-62 victory over Tennessee Tech on Wednesday night in the first round of the Saturn Shootout.
With the game tied at 60, Ivan Bozovic's free throw gave the Peacocks (5-4) the lead for good with 3:05 remaining. Yates, who also had seven rebounds, added two more free throws to seal the win.
Keyon Boyd's 3-point attempt at the buzzer missed for the Golden Eagles (4-6).
Willie Jenkins scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Tennessee Tech, while Derek Stribling added 17 points.
St. Peter's faces the College of Charleston, which beat Harvard 85-62, in the championship game on Thursday.
