LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Romel Beck scored a game-high 15 points to lead UNLV past Texas-Pan American 74-54 Wednesday night.
Beck also was 5-for-5 from the free-throw line and had four rebounds for UNLV (6-4). Jerel Blassingame added 13 points with five assists and Louis Amundson added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Texas-Pan American (7-4) was led by Matt Berry, Derrick East and Eric Montalvo with 12 points apiece.
After the game was tied 32-32 at halftime, the Rebels never trailed in the second half, eventually building a 69-49 lead, their largest throughout the game.
UNLV led for the majority of the first half, building its largest lead at 20-15 with 7:05 until halftime. Texas-Pan American's largest lead came at 32-25 with 45 seconds until halftime. But the Rebels went on a 7-0 run to end the half.
