ATLANTA (AP) -- Boyd Copeland made a 19-foot jumper as time expired to lift Georgia State to a 75-73 win over Florida Atlantic Wednesday night.
The Owls (2-9 overall, 2-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) cut the lead to 73-71 on a Mike Bell lay-up and tied the game when Kahleaf Watson hit a jumper with five seconds remaining.
But Copeland, who had six assists, scored his only basket on the game-winning shot for the Panthers (5-8, 2-2).
Marcus Brown scored 26 points, Kevin Thomas had 16 and Malcom Manier added 15 for Georgia State. Sylvester Morgan had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Bell scored 23 points and had nine rebounds for the Owls. Fred Marshall added 11 points.
Georgia State went on a 27-9 run to take a 40-37 halftime lead.
