LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Odartey Blankson had 25 points and 14 rebounds, leading UNLV to a hard-fought 92-80 victory over Fort Lewis on Wednesday night.
UNLV (7-5) closed the game on a 16-5 run, finally pulling away from a Fort Lewis squad that only trailed by two points with less than five minutes to play.
The game had 16 lead changes, and the Division II Skyhawks had several chances to pull off an upset.
Romel Beck added 18 points for the Rebels, including a 3-pointer with 2:54 to play.
Louis Amundson helped dominate the inside, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jerel Blassingame added 10 points and 10 assists.
Kevin Williams scored 18 points for Fort Lewis (8-2, 3-1), and Ryan Sonnek and Tim Bieri each added 16. Derek Yutzy had 13.
