WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Loren Stokes and Carlos Rivera both scored 16 points, leading five Hofstra players in double digits as the Pride defeated William and Mary 71-59 on Wednesday night.
Adrian Uter scored 14, Aurimas Kieza had 12 and Antoine Agudio added 10 for the Pride (10-1, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association). Stokes and Kieza both scored four 3-pointers.
Hawley Smith led the Tribe (4-7, 0-2 CAA) with 20 points, and Nathan Mann scored 13.
Smith's opening layup was the only Tribe score for the first five minutes of the game, as Hofstra pulled into an early 10-point lead. At the half, the Pride led 42-30.
At the start of the second half, William & Mary whittled the Pride's lead to seven on a jumper by Corey Cofield. But Hofstra rallied, scoring 12 unanswered points to widen the gap to 19 at 13:10.
