BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Peter Cipriano notched a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds as Southern University defeated Southwestern Athletic Conference rival Prairie View 73-61 Wednesday night.
Chris Alexander added 15 points for the Jaguars (5-6, 2-0 SWAC), Jerimie Collier had 12 and Deon Saunders added 11.
Phillip Scott led the Panthers (1-10, 0-2) with 19 points. Dominique Sharpe added 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Oscar Thompson had 10 points.
Southern held a 37-23 edge at the half and outrebounded the Panthers 42-34 on the boards. The Jaguars also scored 21 of their points off of Prairie View turnovers.
