ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Izik Ohanon had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead St. Louis past Tulane 57-41 on Wednesday in the teams' Conference USA opener.
Ohanon hit 8-of-11 from the field to help the Billikens (3-10, 1-0) end a four-game losing streak.
Tulane (6-6, 0-1 Conference USA), which committed a season-high 19 turnovers and had a season-low 41 points, was led by Quincy Davis 10 points.
Saint Louis led throughout the game, holding the Green Wave to 35 percent (16-of-46) shooting. The Billikens, which shot 43 percent (21-of-49) from the field, held Tulane scoreless for 5:37 in the first have.
Saint Louis used a 9-0 run late in the half to take a 27-18 lead into halftime.
Tulane, which had won four of its last five games, climbed to within 38-34 on a 3-pointer by Matt Wheaton with 12:35 left in the game, but the Billikens responded with a 12-0 run to make it 50-34.
Senior guard Reggie Bryant, who had missed the last two games, chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds for Saint Louis, which had lost eight of its last nine outings.
