BOSTON (AP) -- Taylor Coppenrath scored 28 points and T.J. Sorrentine added 14 points as Vermont won its fourth straight, 75-60 over Northeastern on Wednesday night.
Northeastern (6-6, 2-1 America East) had no answer for Coppenrath and the rest of Vermont's frontcourt without freshman forward Shawn James, who leads NCAA Division I with 5.4 blocks per game, but has been suspended indefinitely because of academic difficulties.
Coppenrath, the two-time America East Player of the Year, scored 18 points in the second half as the Catamounts outrebounded Northeastern 46-31 and outscored them 40-16 in the paint.
Northeastern pulled within 51-47 with 11:38 to play, but Vermont (7-3, 3-0) went on an 11-0 run to put the game out of reach. Germain Mopa Njila led the way with a pair of breakaway dunks, and the Huskies never got closer than nine.
The Catamounts broke open a back-and-forth game with a 14-0 run near the end of the first half to pull ahead 32-22. The Huskies pulled within 38-30 at halftime.
Jose Juan Barea led Northeastern with 22 points and Aaron Davis added 15.
