HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) -- Mark Wilson scored 31 points off the bench to lead three players in double-digit scoring and High Point to a 85-72 win against Birmingham-Southern on Saturday.
Wilson also had four rebounds and two assists on 13-of-17 shooting for the Panthers (7-8, 2-0 South Conference).
Danny Gathings scored 16 points and blocked three shots while Jerry Echenique added 14 points for High Point.
James Collins led Birmingham-Southern (8-5, 1-1) with 19 points. Jakob Sigurdarson added 16 points while Jakob Sigurdarson and Thomas Viglianco posted 13 points apiece. Shema Mbyirukira had six points, eight rebounds and four assists.
The Panthers led 42-38 at the half and jumped out to a 50-42 lead in the opening moments of the second half.
The Bulldogs pulled within three points on two occasions but couldn't get closer.
The Panthers shot 52 percent and turned 16 Bulldogs turnovers into 20 points.
Birmingham-Southern shot 42 percent from the field and held a 37-32 edge on the boards.
